Having fortunately been on both sides (Brand Marketing & Sales) myself in Corporate America I can tell you the two haven’t always seen eye to eye on business issues. While I’m an advocate that “Sales” cannot be successful without the support of “Brand Marketing”, and conversely “Brand Marketing” cannot demonstrate its impact without the “pull-through” of “Sales”……. the two often “fight” about their importance over the other. The fact is both parties truly can thrive on one another’s expertise and sometimes removing the veil of ego and hubris can show a “Match Made In Heaven”.
From a “Sales Operations” perspective I had the unenviable task of bringing the two disciplines together in an harmonious approach but I must admit it wasn’t an easy project and getting through the “I’m More Important” stage took some time……have you ever had the same experience?
So, my question posed to you How “Important” Is Brand Marketing To Sales? Can they live happily under the same roof?
